The What-If? Contest

We’re so ready to buy some Christmas decorations and eat gingerbread, even though winter doesn’t officially begin until December 21st. But while it’s still fall, we have another contest for you!

Prompt: What if? The rest is up to you.

Who?

What?

When?

Where?

How?

All students, teachers, staff, and alumni of The King’s Academy!

Basically anything. Prose, 3D art, photography…

The deadline is Friday, November 6th at 11:59 PM!

Submit your work here!

Write, draw, photograph anything that fits the prompt! Then, send it to us through the submission form.

Feedback

This time around, you will have the option to receive feedback from our editorial team! No, you don’t have to get valuable, free feedback from our glorious editorial team—you can uncheck the little box when you submit your work—but it’s there if you want it.

Disclaimer: There’s no guarantee our feedback will be on a professional level. But it’ll be close.

Prizes

Who knows? One per medium? Prizes for high school and middle school students? Not even we know yet! But everyone who submits will have a chance to be featured in TKA news, our blog, and our next edition (Autumn 2020!).

Not-so-frequently-asked Questions

Does our work have to be related to fall?

So, are there any limitations to what we can submit?

What kind of feedback should I be expecting/ how will you give feedback?

Nope! As long as what you submit is related to the prompt in some way, feel free to submit work that’s not related to fall!

Well, yes. Be sure to read our Terms & Conditions, but the gist is to stay TKA-appropriate. Images also can’t exceed 20 MB, or we won’t be able to post them on the website.
Otherwise, feel free to send us 100-page essays, or more than one submission!

Don’t expect much if you’ve submitted artwork (unless you were drawing with a reference that you’ve included in your submission) or photography. But for writing, we’ll make a copy of the Google Doc you submit. Then, we’ll comment for grammatical errors and more, and include some overall feedback at the bottom!

Questions? Email us at tkaliterarymagazine@gmail.com.

We’re so ready to see what you submit to us! Stay safe — don’t eat too much candy — throw out your pumpkins in November!
