The Beginning & End Contest

Tired of writing-only contests? Have no fear! This time around, our Aperture contest centers around photography and art! So, grab your cameras and your sketchbooks and submit your artwork and photography!

Prompt: “Beginning and end”.
Interpret it as you wish!

Who?

What?

When?

Where?

How?

All students, staff, and alumni of The King’s Academy!

Photography and artwork only!

Submissions are due by Monday, April 12th.

Submissions are now closed.

Fill out the form, share your artwork/photography with us, and write a sentence or two about how your work relates to the prompt!

Categories

For this contest, we have three different categories that submissions are sorted into: photography, artwork, and prompt submission.

There will be two winners for each category, one from junior high and one from high school.

Prizes

All winners will be:

  1. Published in Aperture in the blog;

  2. Published in our next edition (Spring 2021); and

  3. Published in TKA social media.

Questions? Gather ‘round…

Does our work have to be related to spring?

So, are there any limitations to what we can submit?

Will I receive feedback on my submission(s)?

Does a photograph of my short story count as a submission?

Nope! As long as what you submit is related to the prompt in some way, feel free to submit work that’s not related to spring! That being said, spring-related work is welcome as well!

Well, yes. Be sure to read our Terms & Conditions, but the gist is to stay TKA-appropriate. Images also can’t exceed 20 MB, or we won’t be able to post them on the website.
Otherwise, feel free to send us a full-on portraits or more than one submission!

Unlike the previous writing contests we’ve held, feedback will most likely not be happening for this contest, since our submissions will only be artwork or photography.

If we’re being technical, then yes, it would count as photography, but if you submit pictures of writing to the photography/artwork contest it will not be considered since the Editors are looking solely at photography and artwork, not writing. Don’t fret though, there will be another writing contest sometime in the future!

Submissions close on Monday, April 12th, so be sure to enter before then!

Be sure to email any questions to the Editors at tkaliterarymagazine@gmail.com.

We look forward to seeing your beautiful artwork and photography!

Contests not your type? Submit your poetry, prose, writing, art, and photography here to have a chance at being featured in our next edition!
