Written SAMUEL BEK (‘20)
“Cactus at Sunset” by David Shih (‘18)
Sometimes I wish I could feel what others felt,
The feeling of first love making one's heart melt,
Or that of when someone's heart has been broken,
So I will not mess up and say what should not be spoken.
There are many things I wish that I could comprehend,
So I could comfort my true friends,
That I would understand why I was told no,
And why life seems to flow all so slow,
Why she said that we can’t start over,
Why I had to be the unlucky three-leaved clover.
This poem is for those who want to know why,
And for those who feel like they don't wanna try.
Don't give up on what you want to feel,
And start exploring life's great appeal.
