Splatoon, I knew of you

Splatoon, I knew of you

But not before I grew a few

The dentist was a painful visit

And it pushed me to my very limit

The old way of sealing back teeth was not funny

And yet the day was really sunny

This was the set up for the next seven years

When we entered the store and I listened to my ears

That game there in all its glory

You will be my new story

I took it off the shelf

It was all for m’self

But I was too young to understand

And I dropped this wonderland

After 2017 I waited three ages

And in 2020 I started life’s new pages

Splatoon 2 was still in its box

There was a lot of time on the clocks

So I opened the game

Understood its fame

And just like that I was back in the hat

The game had a unique cat

His name was Judd and he told all that

Who won and who lost, his gig was quite big

But not as important as a certain squid

Her name was Marie, and she took you on an course

And you both created an undeniable force

That same year a DLC was born

And I bought that little thorn

It was challenging and artistic

A great way to find your hero within!

Oh, the pain of wanting to win!

You beat the boss

And now he’s at loss

Then you move on to a greater beyond

I played this through and through

Until it came time for 2022

A new hero mode and DLC

And we even get a new tee!

The gear and the life, the bustle of it all

But every game has its own fall

And after the grandfest there’s no more calls

Splatfests are gone, but that’s okay because Grand Fest was the best

And who knows? Maybe a fourth game could rise to the test

In my heart I yearn for those two [games]

Oh Splatoon, how I knew of you.
