Short Writing Contest 2020

It’s summer vacation! And we’re all stuck indoors with nowhere to go. But that doesn’t mean you have to stay bored! Whether you’re just looking for something fun to do, love writing, or have a lifelong goal of getting your work published, we have something for you… the Short Writing Contest!

Prompt: Write a short story or poetry (up to 500 words)
that somehow includes a food.

Who can Participate

All students, staff, and alumni of The King’s Academy can submit work to the contest.

How to Participate

  1. Write a short story or poetry (up to 500 words) that somehow includes a food.
A story from a food’s point of view? A land where all food has magical properties? A childhood memory that is closely tied to a food? It’s all up to you!

  2. Submit your story by 11:59 PM PST on Friday, August 7th.
Submit by filling out this form and sharing the Google Doc with tkaliterarymagazine@gmail.com.
You can only submit one story or poem, and you can’t change anything after you submit it, so make sure you’re turning in your best work.
